According to this story of a 13-year-old girl, abduction and rape are the preferred techinques employed by would-be suitors in Ethiopia. In one region, "92% of all marriages result from girls being captured and kidnapped." That's mind-numbing if it's accurate. "In many cases girls are often raped and beaten after they have been captured," the report says. "Head teacher Hundessa Negesso said poverty was a key reason for abduction." What else is new?
